Pack 2 celebrates this Cub Scout tradition in early February to align with Scouting Anniversary Day (often observed as Scout Sunday weekend). The banquet brings families together to celebrate our pack, thank leaders and volunteers, and inspire Scouts and parents for the rest of the year.
Crossover is our way to celebrate Arrow of Light (AOL) Scouts moving on to Scouts BSA. The ceremony is designed to be inspiring—not only for the Scouts who are crossing over, but also for younger Cub Scouts who get a glimpse of the adventures ahead. The Arrow of Light rank is recognized during the ceremony.
While Arrow of Light (AOL) Scouts typically crossover to Scouts BSA, the remaining dens graduate to the next rank at the end of May (school year). Scouts are presented with their rank badges and the neckerchief for their next rank. This is typically a fun pack gathering—often a potluck and/or cookout—and is commonly combined with our annual Rain Gutter Regatta.
Scouts and leaders who have earned religious emblems and medals—or who have been nominated for Catholic Scouting awards—are honored each year at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul in Philadelphia. At this Mass, Scouts and leaders are formally presented and recognized by the Archdiocese.
As a ministry of St. Joseph Parish, Pack 2 observes a Monthly Scout Mass. Usually the first Sunday of the month at 9:00 AM, families attend in field uniform (sometimes called "Class A") to show support for our chartered organization.
Logistics
When: Typically the first Sunday monthly, 9:00 AM Mass (confirm via parish bulletin and Pack communications).
Roles: Scouts serve as greeters and gift bearers during Mass.
Who: All Scouts are invited each month. September–May, Pack 2 coordinates roles with Troop 2; in summer, a mixed representation from the Pack and Troop serves.

Strengthen our partnership: Visible participation thanks our chartered partner for providing leadership and meeting space.
Set the example: Younger Scouts see older boys demonstrating duty to God and community.
Uniform pride: Wearing the field uniform (sometimes called "Class A") at Mass reflects our values of respect and courtesy.
A classic Pack evening—hayride, bonfire, and fall treats (yes, cider & donuts!). A relaxed way to build friendships and welcome new families to the adventure.
When: Typically early fall—see Pack Communication (calendar & email) for date, time, and location.
Pack 2 typically attends Overnight (Resident) Camp together at Camp John H. Ware 3rd (Chester County Council). It’s a highlight of our year: archery, nature, crafts, swimming, campfires, and a classic Pack cookout.
Activities: hiking, swimming, shooting sports, camping under the stars, and a pack cookout. Campers work toward required and elective adventures for rank advancement; den/pack leaders confirm and record sign-offs after camp.
Webelos & Arrow of Light (AOL): special activities just for older Cubs. On 5-day sessions, Wednesday program options may include a Dance Party.
