While Scouts are giving service, they practice teamwork, citizenship, and compassion. Projects are designed for Cub Scout ages and often align with rank adventures.
What to wear & bring: Leaders will specify field uniform (sometimes called “Class A”) or activity uniform for each project. Dress for weather, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water. Safety gear (gloves, tongs, etc.) is provided or noted in the sign-up.
Each November, Pack 2 & BSA Troop 2 joins the council-wide food drive supporting local pantries. Scouts distribute door hangers/bags one weekend and return the next to collect donations for sorting and delivery.
• Beneficiaries often include The Lord’s Pantry and the Chester County Food Bank.
• Great for all ranks—families participate together.
• Recent collections: 2025: 5.617 tons and 2024: 7.7845 tons and 2023: 2.1 tons of food.
Each December, our Pack & BSA Troop 2 helps remember and honor veterans by placing wreaths at local cemeteries or at Arlington National Cemetery.
• Sponsor a wreath or volunteer to place and honor names aloud.
• Family-friendly; reflective and respectful.
Throughout the year, Pack 2 supports our chartered partner and local community with simple, hands-on projects.
• Parish campus clean-ups, mulching, or set-up/tear-down for events.
• Park/trail litter pick-ups and seasonal clean-ups.
• Toy/coat collections and other drives as needs arise.
Thanks to the Scouts, families, and volunteers who gave their time to help build two benches:
• A bench honoring Corporal O’Connor
• A bench for Brandywine Wallace Elementary School
This project was a great example of what Scouting is all about: working together, learning new skills, serving our community, and having fun along the way.
Watch for the sign-up link in Pack emails or the calendar.
Review instructions (uniform, gear, safety notes, meeting point).
Serve together—siblings and families are welcome unless otherwise noted.
